11 Exciting Things to Do in Cozumel
Cozumel is a beautiful little island off the coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. Located just 12 miles offshore from Playa del Carmen, Cozumel is a popular destination for tourists in the area. There is a beautiful reef full of wildlife, offering one of the best scuba and snorkeling locations around. There are dive shops on the island, and many place to rent gear. 2. Taste the Food
Although its a small island, there are many great places to eat in Cozumel. Take some time to dig around and find the good spots to eat. You can even take a Cozumel food tour to travel through the town tasting the local eats. You’ll find empanadas, fresh shrimp tacos, and delicious Mexican pastries. Horseback riding is something you may be able to do anywhere, but Cozumel offers the opportunity to ride in one of the most beautiful settings you’ll see. 4. Zip Line
Like horseback riding, you may be able to find zip lines anywhere. However, Cozumel offers the opportunity to fly above the trees in a truly gorgeous environment. It’s simply one of the best things to do in Cozumel, offering a new perspective of this little island. You can zip line on the east side of the island, or take a tour like this one that offers a dune buggy experience, zip-lining, and a visit to an ecological park in Cozumel. 6. Rent a Wave Runner
Wave running is always fun, offering a bit of an adrenaline rush. You can rent one yourself, or take a friend with you! Waverunning in the waters around Cozumel is an amazing experience. The turquoise waters offer the ideal scenery for being out on the water. With the warm weather, perfect temperature of the water, and sunshine, you’re sure to make some memories. Dune buggies are just so much fun. We love them every time we rent one. It’s one of the best things to do in Cozumel for multiple reasons. First, you can get into the jungle and investigate the scenery for yourself. Second, a dune buggy is often safer than the ATV, and you have a little more security as you zip around the island. 8. Go Sailing

This is another unique thing to do in Cozumel. The Atlantis submarine offers two hour tours that dive to depths of thirty meters. In the protected park waters of Chankanaab, the submarine allows you to stay dry while checking out the coral reef and tropical fish. If you go to Cozumel, you basically will not be able to avoid Mr. Sancho’s. Especially if you’re traveling with family, Mr. Sancho’s is the place to be. There is a water park with trampolines, water slides, and more, great for kids to play. Mr. Sancho’s is the most popular beach club on Cozumel, so you’re bound to see lots of people. But it does offer a day of fun and excitement you’re sure to enjoy.
